News and Information

Hi there!

Welcome back to another year of competitive programming! We'll be meeting every Monday after school in Room 237 (Ferguson's classroom). Our first meeting is tentatively set for October 9th. Before then, check out some of the problems on our practice platform and join our Discord server.

See you soon!

CALICO + Lockheed Martin Teams!

Congratulations everyone on completing the TST! Here are the team arrangements, based on TST performance, results at past contests, and friendship networks (I smell a graph problem...)

CALICO

Team Members
Princeton CPT Aleph Jieruei Chang, Nicholas Hagedorn, Vihaan Jim
Princeton CPT Alpha Brian Jiang, Marco Hu, Henry Langmack
Princeton CPT Epsilon Tom Schlessinger, Nina Tacheva, Vikas Yarlagadda
Princeton CPT Upsilon Ronald Aung, Tommy Birge, Melvin Huang

Lockheed Martin

Team Members
Princeton CPT Aleph Jieruei Chang, Nicholas Hagedorn, Brian Jiang
Princeton CPT Alpha Johanna Roggenkamp, Marco Hu, Henry Langmack
Princeton CPT Epsilon Aman Kapur, Alice Zhao, Emma Li
Princeton CPT Upsilon Nina Tacheva, Tom Schlessinger, Ronald Aung
Please note that the order of the teams is not completely based on how well we think you will do (we didn't use the typical α-β-γ order for a reason). We'll be holding practices soon (especially for Lockheed, our first-ever in person tournament). If you want a different team name or want to ruin our painstakingly designed team arrangements, let us know as soon as possible!

Spring TST

The link to the Team Selection Test for upcoming contests will be available shortly. The test will be open on CPT Platform from March 13th at 3:20pm and close on March 14th at 3:20pm. You will have the full 24 hours to complete 4 problems; each problem is designed such that one test case is brute-forceable and the other requires a more sophisticated solution. Good luck!

Holiday Mock Tournament

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Holiday Mock Tournament - the last CPT meeting of 2022!

Thanks for an incredible year of competitive programming! We'll pick up again in January 2023.

also shoutout to emma for recruiting so many new members

December USACO

The USA Computing Olympiad is this weekend (it's four hours, and you can take it anytime between Friday and Monday). I really encourage you to go if you can!

You'll need to create an account to take the contest. Please do this soon because there are often problems with confirmation emails.

Christmas Coding!

Advent of Code will be running throughout the month of December, with increasingly difficult challenges posted each day. I highly recommend to use this for practice, because the problems are actually really good (and fun, too). To join our leaderboard, use the code 1823080-6ad0f2e4.

Halloween Tournament!

~oOoOoO~ We celebrate Halloween with some spooky problems!

If you had trouble during today's contest, remember that competitive programming is more than just coding. Spend some time thinking about the problem before jumping into VSCode! Try drawing a diagram, or working through the sample cases.

Next week is the team selection test for PClassic and UC Berkeley. We'll be posting details shortly. See you guys soon!

10/17 Mock Tournament

We had a great competition today! It was a lot of fun to watch everyone solve the problems, and we hope all of you learned something from the experience!

In our next meeting on 10/24, we will begin covering algorithmic concepts (particularly prefix sums in 1 and 2 dimensions). Hope to see you there!

- Jieruei, Nick, and Aman

First Mock Tournament!

We'll be running our first practice tournament on Monday, 10/17 after school. It'll be hosted on the CPT Practice Platform. Hope to see you there!
Also, if you haven't already, be sure to join the Discord and fill out the Member Survey.
